Pacific Star Campaign Medal with ribbon.
This medal was awarded for operational service in the Pacific theatre of war from 8th December 1941 to 15th August 1945. Services with the Royal and Merchant navies in the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean and South China Sea and land service in these areas also qualified.

Aircraft carriers had a full length flight deck for launching and recovering aircraft, elevators to move the aircraft to and from the hangars and some had an armoured flight deck to allow carriers to survive prolonged bombing.
