Cruiser tank A10 Mk1A CS model from Gecko Models
In 1940 30 A10 Mk1a tanks had their 2 pounder (40mm) guns replaced with the 3.7 inch (94mm) howitzer & were designated as A10 Mk1a CS. As with the lighter A9 Mk1 CS tanks its job was to fire smoke & HE rounds to screen tanks while they were attacking. It saw action in Greece & North Africa before being withdrawn from service in 1942.
Gecko, who are a relatively new name in the modelling hobby have reproduced this vehicle in 1/35 scale from plastic with a small photo etch fret. It captures the riveted look of this vehicle & also includes internal detail for the drivers & fighting compartment. There are 3 marking options for vehicles used in Greece or North Africa.
