Cobi 1/35 Scale: Sd.Kfz.8 Towing 8.8cm Flak 36
Description
Description
Transport yourself to the sun-drenched, desolate landscapes of North Africa, where mobility, firepower and reliability determined the fate of battles. The Sd.Kfz. 8 & 8.8 cm Flak 36 (DAK) set allows you to build one of the most distinctive artillery sets used by the Afrika Korps, the legendary 8.8 cm cannon and a powerful half-track artillery tractor, adapted to the harsh desert conditions.
This is a proposition for history enthusiasts, realistic model builders, and those who enjoy creating dioramas that capture the atmosphere of the African campaign of World War II.
The pillar of German desert artillery
The 8.8 cm Flak 36 cannon, known as the famous "Eighty-Eight," became famous not only as an effective anti-aircraft gun, but also as one of the most dangerous anti-tank weapons of World War II. In North Africa, where heavy tanks were often lacking, its firepower repeatedly tipped the scales of victory. Towed by powerful Sd.Kfz. 8 tractors, it became a mobile pillar of German desert artillery.
Why choose this set?
The 1:35 - scale allows you to fully appreciate the proportions, structural details and historical silhouette of both the 8.8 cm Flak 36 gun and the Sd.Kfz. 8 tractor. The models are large enough to capture the complexity of the mechanisms, yet perfectly fit into a display case, collector's shelf or elaborate diorama. The modular design allows the trailer to be detached and two pairs of bogies to be removed in order to place the gun directly on the ground.
Two models in one set – in one box you get the legendary 8.8 cm Flak 36 cannon on a Sonderanhänger 201 trailer and the powerful Sd.Kfz. 8 half-track artillery tractor. This is a complete representation of the Afrika Korps mobile artillery set.
2 Luftwaffe artillerymen figures – carefully designed figures of an officer and an artilleryman in characteristic desert uniforms, including one in a German tropical helmet, typical of the Afrika Korps units, complement the models and allow you to create realistic scenes of gun operation, command and securing the firing position.
Movable elements – The rotating mount, adjustable barrel and refined mechanisms make the cannon look and "behave" like the real thing. Detailed running gear and realistic tracks of the Sd.Kfz. 8 tractor - every element has been designed with durability and historical accuracy in mind.
Ideal for building dioramas from the African campaign – the set is perfect for creating dynamic scenes: a firing position in the desert, a marching column or preparation for shelling. The arrangement possibilities are almost unlimited to recreate battles in the sands of the desert.
Intuitive building instructions – clear instructions guide you step-by-step through the entire assembly process, making the set comfortable for both novice builders and experienced collectors.
Collector's accessories - The set includes a weapons crate and several pieces of ammunition for the cannon, as well as a white, brick-built plaque with the model name and scale. This is not only a functional element, but also a great way to display the model at home, in the office or in the living room.
High-quality workmanship – durable prints, solid construction and faithfully reproduced technical details mean that the set will meet the expectations of both collectors and enthusiasts of World War II history.
