By David Willey & The Tank Museum
The definitive visual history of tanks and armoured vehicles, The Tank Book covers more than 400 tanks from the first prototypes to Challenger 2.
The Tank Museum has teamed up with Dorling Kindersley to produce the definitive tank book. From the birth of the tank to unmanned vehicles and the tanks of the future, The Tank Book, written by Curator David Willey, looks at over 400 different tanks.
Incredible photographic tours take you inside a variety of tanks, putting you in the seat of some of the most formidable vehicles to ever go into battle. Perfect for anyone with an interest in military history, The Tank Book is the ultimate guide to tanks and their unique past.
The book is fully illustrated and the images alone warrant a purchase.
One of the best books on tanks past and present . Great detail and the photography the best I have seen. This book is cramped full of information. Don’t know how they do it for the price. I recommend this book to be on the shelf of every history buff and tank enthusiast.
Really interesting seeing how each tank gets quickly bettered by the opposing forces.
Went with my son to The Tank Museum, and both had a great time. In particular the size of the Tigers caught him out. Also loved the interwar year experiments.
Looked at The Tank book whilst there but wasn't clear about cost so didn't buy at the time. Reflected on this afterwards and decided I'd like it so purchased on-line. Great price and quick service - and obviously a great book that encourages getting more into the whole tanker experience. Great stuff
We bought the book as a birthday present and he loves it
