Look the part in this American World War Two First Pattern Tankers Jacket.
Officially called the "Jacket, Combat, Winter".
The 1st pattern tankers jacket was first introduced in 1941 and differs from the more common tankers jacket by having patch pockets on the front.
Original 1st pattern tankers jacket are difficult to find today and are very collectible.
Please note the style of this jacket is an exact replica of the WWII styling. The jacket was to be worn with overalls. The jacket is a short fit coming up high on the hips. This is not a fashion fit
This "Kay Canvas" reproduction features:
- Heavy cotton outer in correct colour.
- Wool blanket type liner 70% wool 30% polyester.
- Chrome Talon zip.
- Brown elasticated collar, cuffs and waist band, the colour of the elastic compliments the colour of the jacket and gives a nice vintage look to the jacket
- Two patch pockets on the front, these are the correct size pockets and they are triple bar stitched on the top corners to try to stop the pockets from ripping out.
For reference the 1st pattern tankers jacket is being worn by Brad Pitt in the film "Fury".

Care Instructions: The jackets have a wool lining. Machine-washable wool. This washing cycle ensures a much reduced mechanical treatment. Reduce the quantity of laundry in the washing machine. The drum should be not more than one-third full. It’s best to use a cycle for wool or delicates for these garments.
The jacket is well made and is as shown. There are no visible defects, I would purchase again. The lining on mine is 90% wool, just a little itchy with short sleeves. I am Very Happy with product!
This is well made and the lining is indeed very welcome for the winter. Lack of secure pockets is inevitable for accurate reproduction and the front open pockets are really only to keep hands warm!. I got a 38 chest size as I am puny, it proved a great fit but it is slightly shorter than I would have wished. Non badged and yes, very good customer service. I love it and, at less than half the price of my very similar Barbour International jacket, a real bargain.
Real quality. Stitched well. Fits great. Looks as it should but wearable just out and about for regular use due to warmth and comfort with the lining. Bear in mind this review is for the non badged version. Extremely happy with this product AND brilliant customer service.
A great garment and throwback to WW2 armoured crew. The lack of internal pockets is the only drawback.
This is the best purchase I have done recently, the jacket certainly keeps you warm in the cold weather.
