Description

There is probably no other tank that has inspired more curiosity and interest in the entire history of mechanized armour than the Panzer VIII “MAUS”.

It is surrounded by an aura of mystery, and the facts are mixed about it with the legends surrounding growing over the years. The Panzerkampfwagen VIII "MAUS" was a prototype German super heavy tank from the Second World War. It was the heaviest and largest tank ever built. It weighed over 188 tons! The project was carried out in the years 1942-1944.

Only two incomplete prototypes were ever built and never entered service. In April 1945, the Red Army captured both abandoned Maus prototypes, which were located at the Kummersdorf training ground. They were assembled into a vehicle with the hull of the first prototype and the turret of the second.

Panzer VIII "MAUS" #2559 is a very special model in the COBI collection! It was built from the beginning in 1:28 scale and is 39 cm long! Removable covers on the turret and hull give you access to the detailed interior. Removable engine, opening hatches, movable barrel and working tracks are other advantages of this set. The tank presented in the context of its construction at the factory is covered with high-quality prints that do not wear off during intensive use.
