Description
Description
This licensed Willys Jeep was released in the British SAS unit paint scheme. The world's most popular off-road vehicle from the Second World War was designed in 1:35 scale and consists of 180 elements. The presented model differs significantly from those used by the US Army. The extremely characteristic cut-out grill of the vehicle with the condenser is very striking. Such a modification of the stock Jeep allowed it to operate in difficult desert conditions, where it is very easy to overheat! Sand paint and items necessary for survival in the desert placed on the hood and bed distinguish the vehicle and add to its appearance of fighting in Africa. The set includes a skeleton lying under a desert palm tree. Around it there are interesting accessories: helmets, weapons and a bottle.
The Special Air Service (SAS) was founded in 1941 by British officer David Stirling as an elite special forces unit for operations behind enemy lines. Initially operating in the desert of North Africa, it carried out sabotage missions against Axis forces, particularly attacking enemy airfields and vehicles. As the war progressed, the SAS expanded its operations into Europe. In Normandy, following the D-Day invasion in 1944, they conducted sabotage operations and supported the resistance in France, Belgium and Italy. They attacked German supply routes, bridges and railways, crippling enemy transport and logistics. The SAS quickly gained a reputation for their effective and unconventional tactics. During the war the unit played a key role in weakening the Axis forces, becoming a legendary special forces unit.
