Delivery & Returns

We use the Royal Mail, DHL Express or UPS for our customers. For UK addresses, deliveries under 10kg are a standard £4.95 via Royal Mail Tracked 48 Service. For orders over 10kg and overseas customers, postage is calculated for you at checkout once you have entered your postal address. This price, does not include any potential custom charges that may apply, depending on the product or destination, as every country has very different import duties / taxes. Online exclusive products (such as trainers) will be delivered to you directly from the printer, separate from other items in your order, but your postage fee covers ALL items in your order.

If you are unhappy with your purchase, please email shop@tankmuseum.org within fourteen (14) working days of receiving your goods, and return it to us at the address below, in its original condition, unopened (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact) and we will issue you a full refund or replace it. Goods must be returned at your own cost. If the item is faulty, you do not need to return it, we will send you a replacement free of charge.

Panther-Fibel (1944) - A New and Authentic English Language Reproduction

The Tank Museum has faithfully and meticulously translated the wartime Panther tank handbook.

Based on the original document housed in our Archive, this self-published title will feature English text carefully set over the German, retaining the rhyming verses and intended wit of the authors.

It includes inserts from the original book and a new foreword by Curator David Willey.

This edition will be close to the original size (12.5cm x17.8cm – ideal for tankies’ pockets) and on identical paper for an authentic feel.

Panther-Fibel was created as an engaging and easy to understand handbook to break the tradition of heavy-going technical manuals.

Such sophisticated machines required considerable knowledge to keep them in action, so commanders sought to snag the interest of young tank crews with these light-hearted, well-illustrated handbooks.

This book has been made using FSC certified paper and card

            The Tank Museum's Sorgenkind.

            This book is everything an enthusiast would want. It is fun and engaging while being enlightening and informative. It is beautifully produced and wonderfully executed. It should be 5+ stars.
            And it would be if you were able to buy the first release. But. . . , and this is a huge but, if you were unfortunate enough to visit The Tank Museum online shop after 2022, say because you had flown half way around the world to visit it in 2019, you get the second release.
            "What could be wrong with this?" I hear you say, "Surely, if anything, it's better!" Well, in their infinite wisdom, they have decided to acknowledge those who purchased the Special Collector's Edition, thereby making the second release possible. Honorable. But, instead of being at the back of the book, where any sane person would put it, this salute takes up pp14-21 prior to a second "start" of the manual proper. Somewhat better than the Tigerfibel. I comfortably gave it three stars as it is less flawed than the Tigerfibel, just.
            OK, sure, acknowledge these people, but do not ruin the reading experience for everyone who follows. I've taped this section shut and, in my view, The Tank Museum still owes me a proper copy of the Pantherfibel.

            On a personal note, I would like to be acknowledged for travelling over 16,000 km (10,000mi), hiring a car, taking a full day out of my holiday and spending over 75GBP at the Gift Shop.
