Excellent work

A very well researched and compiled account of both the July (First Alamein) and October battles of El Alamein 1942. Packed with details and information on the opposing forces manpower, command, logistics, deployments and weaponery this book in the Battle Story series is a great succint guide to battles in the Alamein sector giving a balanced, informed account and including many new images and maps. I was especially pleased that the author produced many clear and accurate ! sketches of critical actions in this sector, which enhance understanding of exactly how and why the battles developed. Incidentally, P.P Battistelli has also written the Battle Orders- Rommels Afrika Korps which includes for the first time full Tables of Organization & Equipment and Orders of Battle for the DAK in May and September 1942, essential for any serious analysis of the Desert War. Highly recommended and a steal at the TM discounted price !
