Description

By Nigel Montgomery

Nigel Montgomery examines the Churchill Tank and provides revealing insights into how this iconic British tank was built and operated.

Born in the tempestuous opening years of the Second World War the Churchill tank's ability to take punishment and still fight on was as legendary as its capacity to climb impossible slopes. Whether in support of beach landings or in a struggle across well-defended terrain, the Churchill became the Swiss Army knife of armoured vehicles - a tank with many adaptations and attachments. Fully illustrated with more than 300 rare photographs and illustrations, as well as information on recent restorations, this is a must own.

This book is Hardback.

My father's history

My late father was a tank driver in the 9th Battalion of the 4th RTR during WWIII and he drove a Churchill. It was called Immune II, he always wondered what happened to Immune I! Hence my interest in the Churchill. What I have read so far has given me greater insight into be his time at the front.
