We use the Royal Mail, DHL Express or UPS for our customers. For UK addresses, deliveries under 10kg are a standard £4.95 via Royal Mail Tracked 48 Service. For orders over 10kg and overseas customers, postage is calculated for you at checkout once you have entered your postal address. This price, does not include any potential custom charges that may apply, depending on the product or destination, as every country has very different import duties / taxes. Online exclusive products (such as trainers) will be delivered to you directly from the printer, separate from other items in your order, but your postage fee covers ALL items in your order.

If you are unhappy with your purchase, please email shop@tankmuseum.org within fourteen (14) working days of receiving your goods, and return it to us at the address below, in its original condition, unopened (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact) and we will issue you a full refund or replace it. Goods must be returned at your own cost. If the item is faulty, you do not need to return it, we will send you a replacement free of charge.

He was wounded three times. He finished the war as one of the most experienced and resourceful of British tank commanders, and in later life he set down his wartime experiences in graphic detail. His book is not only an extraordinary memoir - it is also a compelling account of the exploits of the Royal Tank Regiment throughout the conflict.

As a record of the day-to-day experience of the tank crew of seventy years ago - of the conditions they faced and the battles they fought it has rarely been equalled.

A very good read

Very good service from the Tank Museum shop. I had originally ordered this book a along with one other but it appeared out of stock, however the shop staff took the time and made the effort and managed to find me a copy and we added it on to my order.
Having previously read A Tankies's Travels. by Jock Watt. I wanted to add further knowledge concerning life in the Second world war with the 3 RTR.
The book is well written and very entertaining about life and survival in, France, Western desert, Greece, and N.W. Europe.
You will not learn much of the historic story of the war, as this is a personal account of the authors. It is very interesting to Witness the development of the perspective of Bill Close as he survives and is promoted from a sergeant inexperienced in war to finally becoming a major with command of a squadron of Tanks.
The only confusing thing about the book is the Selection of photographs, most of which are of neither the tanks nor the campaigns that the author was involved with. Hence only 4 star.
