By Jonathan Falconer, republished by The Tank Museum
The Tank Museum Guide to D-Day provides fascinating insights into the design, construction and purpose of some of the innovative machines, structures and innovations that were used on D-Day and after, revealing how they contributed to the success of Operations Overlord and Neptune, paving the way for victory in Europe.
Almost 80 years ago, on the 6 June 1944, the world awoke to the momentous news of the Allied invasion of northern France - D-Day: the greatest amphibious assault in history. Previously published by Haynes, this 2024 80th anniversary edition published by The Tank Museum includes new images, plus three new chapters covering vehicle waterproofing, Allied medical services in Normandy, and death in Normandy.
This new edition is an essential read for anyone with an interest in the Second World War.
