By Cormac McCarthy
The Road is the incredible post-apocalyptic and Pulitzer Prize-winning modern classic by Cormac McCarthy.
A father and his young son walk together through burned America, heading slowly for the coast. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. They have nothing but a pistol to defend themselves against the men who stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food and each other.
This book is difficult to get into at first. There is a major lack of grammer; which takes some time to get used to but once you have embraced the style and understand why the writer has chosen to do it that way you can really enjoy the novel. This book is a brief glimpse at a part of a person's life in a dystopian future. Incredibly immersive and emotive.
