Description

By Rad Bradbury

A classic collection of stories - all told on the skin of a man - from the author of Fahrenheit 451. If El Greco had painted miniatures in his prime, no bigger than your hand, infinitely detailed, with his sulphurous colour and exquisite human anatomy, perhaps he might have used this man's body for his art... Yet the Illustrated Man has tried to burn the illustrations off.

He's tried sandpaper, acid, and a knife. Because, as the sun sets, the pictures glow like charcoals, like scattered gems. They quiver and come to life.

Tiny pink hands gesture, tiny mouths flicker as the figures enact their stories - voices rise, small and muted, predicting the future. Here are sixteen tales: sixteen illustrations... the seventeenth is your own future told on the skin of the Illustrated Man.

Tank Museum top search hit

I googled a book that I’ve found extremely hard to find, ‘The Illustrated Man’ (and with order conditions that suit me),ie. avoiding Amazon’s buy more goods to qualify for free delivery, or the appalling condition of EBay goods. Having found the book I wanted on The Tank Museum website, I was delighted to have found an alternative to the ‘big’ web stores. Ordering was so easy and I was delighted to donate during the checkout pages. Delivery is offered on various options, I chose first class tracked.

My Illustrated Man book was not, ‘very good’, ‘used acceptable’ etc. etc!! It is as brand new as a book can be and I am truly delighted with my purchase from The Tank Museum and it will be a favoured place to go to browse and buy from a wonderful selection of books with quality of service an absolute given. As trustworthy and assured as a tank. Bravo.
