The wearable, washable, all weather map designed for the real outdoors
Harry’s Hampshire Interactive Map is a beautiful historically inspired map – which is printed on a decorative satin so it can be worn as a scarf – uses the latest technology to highlight the role Hampshire played in the build up and aftermath of the Battle of Agincourt. The map is in the legendary style of 16th Century cartographer, John Speed.
But it holds many secrets! Using augmented reality, the map is embedded with tales from the past and information of the significant role the region played in King Henry V’s reign. It’s easy to access animations complete with tales from the past and key information of the role the region played in the lead up to the battle.
With links to the website content on www.roadtoagincourt.co.uk, the map can be updated with new content so that next time you go to scan a code, there could be new things to learn and watch!
Like all the best ideas, SplashMaps was born of frustration. Failing GPS devices and trying to use wet paper maps outdoors are not great user experiences. SplashMaps have taken their knowledge of mapping, gained from years of experience with mapping agencies, added open map data from the world’s Mapping Agencies and OpenStreetMap to make a product that is entirely designed around you.
A SplashMap shows the places you value the most, with the essential navigation information clearly displayed on an uncluttered map, printed onto a material you just can’t wreck!
