Queen Elizabeth II was Colonel in Chief of five regiments of the Royal Armoured Corps: The Life Guards, The Blues and Royals, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, The Royal Lancers and The Royal Tank Regiment.
The Queen visited The Tank Museum on two occasions. In 1997 Her Majesty rode in The Tank Museum’s Rolls Royce Armoured car as she reviewed a guard of honour from The Royal Tank Regiment and RTR Veterans associations to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Cambrai.
