This Battle of Normandy – via Hill 122 SplashMap features a new Remembrance Pilgrimage Walk. Commemorating the World War Two liberation of Europe, this bold extract has mapped the pilgrimage trail starting from Gold Beach and ending 60 miles away at the place where the decisive withdrawal of German Troops via Hill 226 and Chambois happened. Historical notes, graphic enhancement and regimental emblems adorn the map originally made in collaboration between SplashMaps and the cartographic teams at Michelin.
The ideal overview of the landings, battles and troop movements during the Summer of 1944, this map is an amazing guide to use when walking, touring or driving this pivotal area of France.
Like all the best ideas, SplashMaps was born of frustration. Failing GPS devices and trying to use wet paper maps outdoors are not great user experiences. SplashMaps have taken their knowledge of mapping, gained from years of experience with mapping agencies, added open map data from the world’s Mapping Agencies and OpenStreetMap to make a product that is entirely designed around you.
A SplashMap shows the places you value the most, with the essential navigation information clearly displayed on an uncluttered map, printed onto a material you just can’t wreck!
