Cobi Mark 1

Arrived promptly after ordering. Easy build and looks great. Happy to support The Tank Museum.

As mentioned in other reviews, there is no interior detail, it is however much cheaper than a genuine Lego model and looks great on the shelf.

Mark I Tank

This arrived quickly and was well wrapped. It was out of stock on the cobi website and bricktanks and expensive on eBay and Amazon, so I looked a little harder and found it for sale at the Tank Museum. They had several things in stock here that were unobtainable elsewhere, so I also bought an A7V (£5 cheaper than bricktanks), and a Stuka (sold out everywhere). While bricktanks offer free postage, the Tank Museum’s postage is very reasonable, making it an excellent option if you are buying more than one model, plus you’re helping fund one of the best museums in the country (we’ve visited several times).

A brickmania custom kit with real Lego costs more than €300 so the cobi kit at £40 is a very well priced alternative. It is well made and extremely stable (by which I mean it won’t fall apart if played with). The tracks roll very smoothly. Both of these can be problems with “real” custom made Lego kits which are more intended for display than play.

The model itself is very good looking and authentic. Cobi used to make heavy use of stickers on their models so they could not be taken apart and rebuilt without damaging the look. This has only pad printing, and I understand that is the case with many of their aircraft these days too. There is no interior detail as you might get in one of the better Lego custom builds, but it does have two movable viewing hatches on the front and a round hatch on top in which you can position the mini figure provided. The only downside to the model is the minifigure itself. I hate cobi mini figures, but custom made ww1 and ww2 Lego minifigures are available at United Bricks here in the UK!

Excellent

Very impressed with the speedy delivery of a well wrapped parcel. Am in the middle of assembly right now and enjoying it very much. The parts are beautifully and precisely moulded, and fit together closely and cleanly. Instruction booklet is crystal clear, and the stages of assembly are logically presented in a very helpful sequence, and encourage me to use the all-too poorly developed skills of patience and focus.

Fun to build & looks great

This was really fun to build and looks good sitting next to my other models from WW1 (Sopwith Camel & FT 17 tank) . 605 pieces might sound a lot but the instructions are clear and easy to follow and it took me about 3-4 hours to build and looks great once finished.
