Description

By Anne Frank

"The Diary of a Young Girl" is among the most enduring documents of the 20th century. Anne Frank kept a diary from 1942 to 1944.

Initially she wrote it strictly for herself. Then, one day in 1944, a member of the Dutch government in exile announced in a radio broadcast from London that after the war he hoped to collect eyewitness accounts of the suffering of the Dutch people under the German occupation, which could be made available to the public. As an example, he specially mentioned letters and diaries.

Anne Frank decided that when the war was over, she would publish a book based on her diary. Anne's diary ends abruptly when she and her family were betrayed. Since its publication in 1947, "The Diary of a Young Girl" has been read by tens of millions of people.

Enlightening.

Anne's diary during a troubling time is very interesting, especially the how Jews were being hunted down to be taken to "work camps". Her own thoughts about growing up , adolescence, her thought about her parents and those she is living with is very moving. very sad that Anne and her sister Margot did not make it. I believe Anne was very gifted and would have been a good Journalist with her gift for words and observations.
I read this for the first time, and will add it to my collection of WW2 military history book collection. shall such atrocities never be repeated again.

Ann Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl

Got it for my daughter as an educational insight into war time. Thought it would be a change from story format. She really enjoyed it and said it was interesting as it was studied at school. I think it's a good book too.
The experience of first order from The Tank Museum is good as it took the time for delivery as indicated. Packaging and price is good too.
