745 piece 255mm M4A3E8 Sherman Easy Eight from COBI.

The M4 Sherman was the battle tank most commonly in use by the US (and some of the other Western Allies) in World War 2. Mechanically reliable, easy and cheap to produce and maintain, the M4 was distributed in thousands, through the Lend-Lease programme, to the British Commonwealth and Soviet Union.

This model, M4A3E8, acquired the nickname 'Easy Eight' from its designation and from the smooth ride provided by its spring suspension system and wide tracks.

Cobi doesn’t disappoint.

As an adult fan of Lego I feel like I am cheating on a company I have loved since childhood. However, I accept that Cobi’s war materiel products are not in direct competition.

This brick tank kit is superb and was an enjoyable build. I particularly like the fact that there are no stickers and all markings are pad printed.

Even though the tank is not strictly fine scale I do use it with my G scale railway layout. You can catch glimpses of it in this video of me operating a live steam locomotive: https://youtu.be/MPJOEdG7w8E Somehow it blends right in!
Cheers,
